Your comments and recommendations in letters and emails can influence the following representatives for your area. Particularly, what your concerns are and how it affects you, family, friends, etc. They may not be aware of some of the local concerns of their constituents on Lake Texoma boating, fishing, hunting and other outdoor recreation.

  • Lake Texoma area
    • Texas
    • Oklahoma
  • Draft letters and emails for use in contacting representatives and government organizations.
  • Drafts will be provided as required.
  • Petitions will be provided as required.
The easiest way to do this is go to "League of Woman Voters " web site and enter your zip code. Your federal and state representatives should be listed.

You can also find your U.S. Senator and Representatives and their contact information by going to www.senate.gov and www.house.gov respectively, select your state at the top of the page and follow the links to your Senator or Representative.

Or go to www.congressmerge.com and enter your state in the Find Who Represents You in Congress section. Other helpful congressional information is available on the web site.

You can pre-type your message in a word process and then copy/paste it into the message block of their email form.

Contact information for several U.S. and State Senators and Representatives are provided below whose responsible areas include Lake Texoma.

Note: You will need to normally fax or snail mail messages to U.S. Senators or Representatives if you do not vote in their state or district respectively. Their E-mail forms usually require you to include your address and zip code that enables them to receive your email.

Individual letters and faxes to elected officials are always helpful and are often more effective than exact duplicate communications. Let them know how you feel about Lake Texoma! Otherwise only development interests have their ear.

In addition to the web sites above, there are federal, state and local officials such as City of Denison officials and Corps of Engineers officials listed below.

U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer is the influential Chairperson on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that has primary responsibility for WRDA legislation and oversight of the Corps of Engineers. Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe (OK) is the Minority Ranking member on the Republican side (and reportedly actively supports the Little Mineral Bay and Lake Texoma State Park land sales and numerous Corps Red River Chloride Control projects as well as initiating the mandated Corps Demonstration Lake Program increasing privatization around Oklahoma lakes and probably includes Lake Texoma). U.S. Representative Ralph Hall (TX) represents Grayson County and reportedly actively supports the Little Mineral Bay development including the congressionally mandated sale of the Corps managed public shoreline land.

U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) is the influential Chairwoman of the House Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee who can also affect the final WRDA and other legislative language and actions in the House.
